Welcome to planet dakattack, where boards are cool and skaters rule! A place where gravity has no meaning and fear has no place. Adrenaline is joy juice and ramps are killed for dinner.
Planet dakattack...you're either born with it or you're not.

Meet 9 year old skater Dakota Asbeck, aka Dak. Dak has been skateboarding 1/2 of his life! That's right, he started when he was 4. He was the only skater that left the park sitting in a booster seat, sippy cup in hand. He is totally self taught and a true natural. His first board was a mini that came up to his shoulder. A teen skater once called him a prodigy and he retorted, "No, I'm not!". He thought he had just been insulted!
He participated in his first competition at age 5 in Austin, TX. He placed 14th out of 24 skaters in a 12 and under age group. At 7, he placed 3rd in the Gatorade Free Flow Tour at Southside Skatepark in South Houston, TX behind an 11 and 12 year old. He has placed 1st and 2nd at smaller, local competitions.
He moves with such ease on his board that you sort of envision him being born with wheels on his feet. The most experienced skaters often express awe at his apparent innate ability. Small for his age, he appears to be totally fearless. In reality, though, he is actually wisely cautious and seldom fails because he doesn't skate with wild abandon. He has an exceptional understanding of his own body, skills and readiness. So, fearless...not quite. More so than your typical 9 year old...NO DOUBT!
